1) Executive Assistant

AustCham is the second largest of 28 International Chambers in Hong Kong and is a non-government and non-profit organisation which exists to foster business opportunities and strengthen ties between Hong Kong and Australia. We have an active and committed membership of about 1,500 individuals representing some 550 companies.

As Australia’s largest international commercial member organisation, we are looking for an energetic, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent attention to detail who can demonstrate initiative as part of a small but highly motivated team.

What we would like from you

Office Management

  • Assist the Chief Executive with adminstrative duties as required,
  • Manage employment matters such as working visas, insurance, staff benefits, and records,
  • Manage IT. issues working with external contractors,

Board Liaison

  • Secretarial support to the Board of Directors, coordinating and preparing management papers for the AustCham Board, and minute-taking at Board meetings,
  • Organise and support the board secretariat function on activities including the Annual General Meeting, Board of Directors’ elections and Board events.

Working Groups

  • Support the  network of influential and engaged Working Groups (member sub-committees around key industries/themes)
  • Assistance at Chamber events, a key deliverable for the chamber and its members.

What you can bring to us

  • A team player who brings energy and pride to their workplace,
  • Experience dealing with senior level international business executives
  • General administrative support skills with strong MS Office capabilities.
  • Shorthand or minute-taking skills would be an advantage.
  • Strong communications skills in English – both written and spoken
  • A cultural understanding of both Australia and Hong Kong,
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi-task

2) Business Development Manager

As Australia’s largest international chamber, we are looking for a dynamic and motivated business development/sales manager.  This senior role would suit someone who is passionate about exceeding our members and sponsors’ expectations. If you have a creative flair, relish client service and are highly reliable, super organised and systematic this could be the ideal role for you.

This key position is a high profile, promotional and member-facing role which is ultimately responsible for sponsorship and member acquisition and retention. The Business Development Manager report directly to the Chamber’s Chief Executive and works closely with all members of the Secretariat as part of a small but highly-motivated team.

What we would like from you

  • Acquire and exceed the expectations of AustCham sponsors and corporate supporters as directed by the Chief Executive
  • Generate new sponsorship opportunities for key Chamber events and activities throughout the year
  • Contribute to the development of a compelling membership value proposition – take pride in seeing our members get the most from their membership and ensure that we maintain the quality and value of our offering
  • Grow the Chamber membership by developing targeted member attraction programs
  • Represent the Chamber at events to promote activities and value to members
  • Be the first point of contact for potential members, supporters and sponsors 
  • Produce and present reports (as required) to the Chamber Board

What you can bring to us

  • A bachelors’ degree with a minimum of 8-10 years’ experience.
  •  You will have a proven track record in corporate sales, preferably with corporations in Hong Kong, drawing on your passion, and driven by a sense of purpose.
  • A relationship builder who has a genuine curiosity about our members and their businesses
  • A creative thinker with the analytical ability to identify trends, gaps and emerging markets for our membership
  • Excellent English and a good understanding of the Australian business and political environment would be an advantage.
  • A self-motivated individual who is reliable, highly organised and systematic
