Opportunity to join the AustCham family: Membership Manager/ Senior Membership Executive

Want to join Australia’s largest international chamber of commerce – and one of Hong Kong’s most influential business organisations?  AustCham Hong Kong is looking for a talented individual to take on the dynamic role of Senior Membership Executive.  You would be the “go to” person for membership inquiries, registrations and new member engagement.  The role is ideal for people who are passionate about making a difference, enjoy meeting new people and have excellent communications skills.  The role would report to the Business Development Manager and play a crucial role in welcoming new members and managing existing relationships.

This role includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:

  • Promote the benefits of belonging:  responsible for developing up-to-date marketing materials
  • Play a key role in building and maintaining relationships with existing and new members.

  • Manage new and renewing member on-boarding service

  • Support the Business Development Manager in processing member communications and payment.

  • Develop a strong knowledge of member companies and identify ways to maximise cross-member introductions for mutual benefit.

  • Support the implementation of a new CRM system which will revolutionise the way we serve our members and manage the membership administration.

  • Co-ordinate the compilation and publication of the Annual Members Directory

  • Carry out weekly updates to the Chamber’s website and social media sites

  • Develop membership reporting documents and monthly statistics

  • Assist the Business Development Manager in driving new members and actively exploring new connections

  • Suggest new processes and drive continuous improvement and performance

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about serving clients and exceeding their expectations

  • Thrives in small teams where it’s often “all hands on deck”

  • Is motivated by forging new relationships and servicing members

  • Has strong organisational skills, attention to detail and an ability to manage a number of projects at the same time

  • Is self-motivated and demonstrates initiative

  • Has excellent communication skills and an innate curiosity about people and the world around them.

  • Is a great listener and enjoys connecting people

  • Has a qualification to undergraduate degree level and at least five years’  experience

  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems

  • Likes and makes creative use of technology

  • Has a willingness to learn and try a new approaches; not afraid of change, risk or failure

  • Good knowledge of Australia would be preferred

  • Can communicate effectively in English (written and verbal) with Chinese language skills preferred

  • Candidate with less experience will be consider as Senior Membership Executive
