Board of Directors 

The Chamber is supported by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of leading identities from the Australian business community. The Board meets at least eight times a year and Directors are elected at the Annual General Meeting.

The Chamber Secretariat and Committees are accountable to the Board. The Board is accountable to the Members.

Robert Quinlivan - Chairman

Rob is a Senior Advisor for Bullish, a digital asset exchange.  Rob has over 30 years of experience in international financial markets. Previously Rob was Group CFO for Sun Hung Kai & Co., CFO Asia for Macquarie Group Limited and has worked in senior finance and assurance roles with Barclays and Merrill Lynch. Prior to Hong Kong, Rob worked in Seoul, Tokyo, London and New York.  Rob commenced his career with KPMG in Australia.

Angela Mackay - Deputy Chair

Angela Mackay is the Global Publisher of FT Live and Managing Director of Asia Pacific at the Financial Times. She is a member of the FT’s global board and holds several board positions across The FT Group portfolio. In her personal capacity, Mackay is a non-executive board member for the Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile (CHAT) and the Sovereign Art Foundation. She holds a BA in English Literature and an LLB from the University of New South Wales and was admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales and Victoria, Australia. 

 

Fiona Nott - Deputy Chair

Fiona is the CEO of The Women's Foundation, an NGO dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in Hong Kong. A former Lawyer and Company Secretary. Fiona is also a director of Aesop Hong Kong.

Josephine Orgill - Treasurer 

Jo has nearly thirty years’ experience in financial services across hedge funds, markets, advocacy and chartered accountancy. She has spent the last twenty four years in Hong Kong and held senior leadership roles in investment banking, asset management and industry associations. 

Jo is now a partner and director of HFL Advisors Limited, a governance and sound practice hedge fund advisory platform based in Hong Kong and works as an independent director for funds. 

Jo holds a B. Comm from  the University of Queensland, Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. She is a Member of Chartered Accountants, Australia and New Zealand, and Graduate of Australian Institute of Company Directors International Company Directors Course and a current member.  


Directors

Anna Tehan

Anna is the Executive Vice President, Corporate Communications at the Fung Group, whose diverse businesses operate across the entire global supply chain for consumer goods including trading, logistics, distribution and retail. She has over twenty-five years of experience in internal communications, change management, brand development, media, and community and stakeholder engagement and has lived in Hong Kong for the past sixteen years. Anna has a Bachelor of Arts, from The University of Melbourne, Australia.

Simone Wheeler 

Simone Wheeler has lived and worked in Asia for 25 years managing the reputation, culture and brand of innovative multinationals and start-ups in the finance, asset management, technology, media and FMCG sectors. Following 12 years as Global Head of Communications of CLSA, the brokerage, investment bank and private equity firm now owned by CITIC Securities, Simone is pursuing her passion for philanthropy at the global NGO OneSky.org and, through her consultancy Aurelius Strategic, is helping enlightened, purpose-driven organisations and individuals to achieve bold outcomes that benefit society and the planet. Simone has been a member of the Austcham board since 2018.

Darren Bowdern 

Darren is a partner in KPMG’s Hong Kong tax practice, heading up the M&A Tax and Alternative Investments practice in Hong Kong. He has more than 25 years experience of serving institutions in a wide range of industries in Hong Kong and Asia Pacific.

David Simmonds

David is the Group General Counsel, Chief Administrative Officer and Company Secretary of CLP Holdings Limited.  He has extensive infrastructure and corporate governance experience throughout Asia.  Prior to joining CLP Group, David held various senior positions at Telstra.  He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators in England, a Fellow of The Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries and a current Vice President of The Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries Council. 

Shannon Powell - Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner Hong Kong and Macau

Starting in large Australian law firms she later joined The Global Foundation, facilitating trade and investment and policy development in the areas of mining, renewable energy, financial services, education, agribusiness and manufacturing. Shannon was also Director of her own consultancy company, specialising in governance, leadership, community engagement and communications for organisations across Australia, Brazil and the United States. Shannon sits on the Advisory Board of
The Global Foundation.

James Hogan

James is currently an active board member, advisor and investor in several businesses within the biotech and fintech sectors.  A former international banker, he worked for HSBC for 32 years in a variety of senior wholesale banking and general management roles largely across the Asia-Pacific Region, including 5 years in Australia (2011 – 2016).

Originally from Ireland, James holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College (UCD) and has also attended executive education programmes at Tsinghua University, London Business School, INSEAD, and Harvard Business School.

 

Jason Chang

Jason is Co-Founder, CEO and Managing Director of EMR Capital, a global private equity firm with a focus on mining and energy transition. Prior to EMR, Jason was a Partner in Charge of KPMG Australia’s Asia Practice.

Jason was a Board Director of the Australia China Business Council and President of its Victorian Branch (2008-2015). Jason graduated with a Masters of Law, Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Economics from Monash University, Australia, and is admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria, Australia. He is a Fellow of the Financial Institute of Australia (FINSIA) and a Member of the Hong Kong Securities Institute (HKSI).

Liam Collette

Liam Collette is International Managing Director for PizzaExpress, based in Hong Kong since 2016. He is responsible for 35+ company owned and operated sites in Hong Kong and UAE, with over 1,000 employees. He is also responsible for the franchise business which includes 50+ sites in Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Macau, India, Kuwait, Spain, Cyprus and Gibraltar. Liam has been focussed on international expansion, launching the brand in Mumbai, Beijing, Singapore, Manila and most recently launching in Macau during January 2021.

Liam has significant experience in Mainland China having set up companies, bank accounts, licences, team and supply chains for the launch of PizzaExpress in Beijing in 2014 then PE was purchased by Hony Capital (Chinese PE firm). 

Prior to Hong Kong , Liam was based in London for 10+ years, and was a member of the Australian Chamber in UK. He worked as Head of Finance for Lloyds TSB’s successful strategic cost reduction programme. Joining PizzaExpress in 2011 as Head of Finance focussed on the UK business with over 400 company owned restaurants.

Patrick Vizzone

Patrick is a Director of AustCham’s Board of Directors and Chair of the Greater Bay Area Committee for The Australian Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong.

Patrick leads private equity and venture capital investments in the sustainable agri-food sector globally for Franklin Templeton.

Immediately prior to his currently role, Patrick Vizzone was ANZ International’s Head of Food, Beverage & Agribusiness. He is responsible for sector leadership across Asia, North America and Europe, and a key connector with our home markets in Australia and New Zealand. Patrick was born in Australia and has resided in Greater China and Japan since 1994.

Throughout his career, Patrick has held numerous senior corporate and investment banking leadership positions including most recently as Head of Institutional Banking, Asia and Head of Food & Agribusiness, Asia at National Australia Bank. Patrick has also served as Managing Director and Head of Food & Agribusiness, Asia at Rabobank. He is a long-standing member of the Board of Directors of China Agri-Industries, the flagship listed subsidiary of the COFCO Group, China’s largest food and agribusiness enterprise. He is currently serving a two-year term as Chairman of the International Board of the Produce Marketing Association (an industry association which represents 38 percent of all food consumption) and is the past Chairman of its Global Strategy Task Force.

Patrick is the inaugural Member of the Advisory Board of the Australia-Sino 100 Year Partnership (“ASA100”) and a Member of the Advisory Board of Agfunder, an online investment marketplace enabling accredited investors to invest in agriculture and agriculture technology companies. He is a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Patrick has a BA in History and Political Science from Monash University and an MBA in finance from Manchester Business School.

James Bitossi

James is a Director, Wholesale Credit for Australia and New Zealand Banking Group. He is a values-led senior banker and leader with seventeen years experience across commercial, corporate and institutional segments in key risk disciplines, credit advisory, strategy execution and building relationship. He is passionate about learnng, diversity and culture.  

Dr George Lam - Senior Advisor to AustCham Board of Directors

George is Non-Executive Chairman - Hong Kong and ASEAN Region and Chief Advisor to Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets Asia. Chairman of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, President of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP) Sustainable Business Network (ESBN) Executive Council and Chairman of its Task Force on Banking and Finance, and also President of Hong Kong-ASEAN Economic Cooperation Foundation and Honorary Chairman - Asia Pacific of CMA Australia.
