COVID-19 Vaccines: Questions answered by a panel of experts

In partnership with BritCham

The vaccine programme is underway in Hong Kong as a key step towards getting the economy back on its feet and opening borders. However, many residents have been hesitant to participate, and the participation rate is around 5% compared to the target 70% we need for herd immunity. Unanswered questions remain regarding safety, efficacy, effectiveness and more.

We have assembled a panel of two experts: Professor Benjamin Cowling (Division Head at the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, HKUMed) and Dr. David Owens (Specialist in Family Medicine, OT&P), and they will join the Chamber to share their knowledge, expertise and insights on the vaccines, and answer questions from the audience.

This is an opportunity to understand the safety issues, hear more about vaccine effectiveness, and the link between individual and population immunity. The panel will be moderated by Hanif Kanji (Chair of the BritCham's Healthcare Committee).

Webinar access details will be sent via email to registered guests one hour before the event start time.
