AustCham Hong Kong’s Sustainability Committee is thrilled to be hosting in-person featuring guest speaker and Co-Chair of the Sustainability Committee, Hendrik Rosenthal. Hendrik is Director – Group Sustainability at CLP Holdings Limited. Hendrik has recently been appointed to Co-Chair of AustCham’s Sustainability Committee. Engaging with members, Hendrik will talk about the Sustainability landscape in Hong Kong, CLP’s roadmap towards a greener future, as well as his perspective in steering businesses onto the pathway of change.

Hendrik is responsible for the Group’s sustainability-related strategy, reporting and communications. He supports the senior management in sustainability and climate change-related risk management and advises on sustainability matters of the Group’s power business in the Asia-Pacific region.

In a ‘fireside-style’ format, Hendrik will be in conversation with Rachel Phillips, Co-Chair of the Sustainability Committee. Join us for an engaging and enlightening conversation about an area crucial for business and cuts across every industry in Hong Kong.

The event includes a 2 course lunch and a drink.

Hendrik Rosenthal
Director – Group Sustainability | CLP Holdings Limited

With 20 years of experience in environmental management across the public, private and NGO sectors, Hendrik previously led research and consulting projects in Canada, Hong Kong and Singapore.


He began his career in natural resource management and environmental policy, through various positions at Canadian government agencies in environment and development. After moving to Hong Kong in 2008, Hendrik promoted sustainability practices via private sector projects and through policy engagement for industry associations. Prior to joining CLP, he was a senior manager of applied sustainability in Singapore working for a multinational company.


Rachel Phillips
Sustainable Investing Strategist | J.P. Morgan Asset Management

Rachel Phillips works in the Sustainable Investing team and is based in Hong Kong, she supports the implementation of the firm’s sustainable investment strategy, solutions and product innovation in APAC. In partnership with our distribution and investment teams, she leverages our extensive data and research capabilities, proprietary technology and ESG expertise to deliver sustainable solutions to our clients. She also supports the development of sustainable investing specific content and training, both internally and externally.


Prior to this, Rachel worked in the ESG team at KPMG, specializing in sustainability assurance, compliance and policy development. Her responsibilities included developing materiality frameworks, due diligence processes and questionnaires and ESG investing scorecards.

Rachel co-chairs the Australian Chamber of Commerce(AustCham)’s Sustainability Committee. She previously co-chaired AustCham’s Young Professionals Committee and has participated in the mentor programs of Women in Finance Asia and Women in Sport Empowered (Hong Kong).


Rachel holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Arts (International Studies and Politics and Chinese Studies) from the University of Adelaide and is a qualified Barrister and Solicitor.
