QANTAS FLIGHT UPDATES
The Qantas International will reduce Asia capacity until at least the end of May,
impacting flights from Australia to mainland China, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Reduced capacity for Hong Kong:

 Sydney-Hong Kong – reduced from 14 return flights per week to 7
Brisbane-Hong Kong – reduced from 7 return flights per week to 4
Melbourne-Hong Kong – reduced from 7 return flights per week to 5

Public services to resume in a safe and orderly manner
The Government will implement targeted measures to reduce social contact
and infection control measures and gradually resume more public services from March 2
in an orderly manner.

 

Special Emergency Response Allowance Introduced For Frontline Staff Working in High Risk Areas
According to the number of days worked in high risk areas, the allowance is set at 20% of the daily basic salary of the staff or $500 per day, whichever is higher. "The allowance, with retrospective effect from January 25, will be applicable until the lowering of the Emergency Response Level," added the spokesperson.

Opening remarks by SCMA on Hong Kong people in Hubei
The HKSAR Government announces that chartered flights will be arranged to bring back Hong Kong people stranded in Hubei in batches. This is a joint operation by the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau, the Security Bureau, the Food and Health Bureau and relevant departments such as the Immigration Department, the Department of Health and the Hospital Authority. The Director of Immigration will also take part in the operation. We need to discuss and finalise the detailed arrangements with the Hubei Provincial Government before the operation could be implemented.
