Shirman Lai
Shirman Lai is a Director in International Business Execution at ANZ Bank, based in Hong Kong, responsible for driving the strategy delivery and transformation across the bank’s international institutional franchise across Asia, US, Europe and the Middle East. Her work centres on translating strategic ambition into executable outcomes across complex, multi‑market environments. Shirman partners closely with senior leaders and country teams to strengthen operating models, uplift governance and risk discipline, and drive sustainable change at scale.
Prior to joining ANZ, Shirman spent nearly ten years in Big 4 risk consulting roles with KPMG and Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Sydney and New York. Shirman holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Accounting from the University of New South Wales, Australia. She is also a Chartered Accountant of CA ANZ. In addition to their professional credentials, Shirman has actively contributed to several volunteer initiatives, including serving as Advisory Council Co-Chair for the Women’s Foundation Hong Kong Mentoring Program and acting as Junior and Youth Hockey Convenor for the Hong Kong Cricket Club.
